  Hunter/Jumper Training

USHJA Certified Trainer Jeri Lou Paul has over thirty years of professional riding, showing and training experience at both the national and international level. Jeri Lou is a second-generation trainer, and for many years, she and her family owned and operated Port O'Call Farms, a hunter/jumper facility in Virginia.

As a junior, Jeri Lou was voted Outstanding Junior Rider by the Virginia Horse Council (1982), was twice awarded the Junior World Championship in Working Hunters by the American Junior Quarter Horse Association (1980 and 1982) and won the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Working Hunters (1982). From 1988 to 1989, Jeri Lou had the opportunity to ride, train and compete in Germany and Sweden, and in 1991, back in the US, she won the High Point Open Jumper Award for the state of Florida aboard her Hanovarian stallion, Ganimede.

She has competed her own and clients' horses on the East Coast, West Coast and in Europe at every level including Grand Prix. She won the prestigious Governors Cup aboard a mare named First Serve and trained with Olympic medalists Joe Fargis and Conrad Holmfeld at Sandron Farms in Middleburg, Virginia.

Jeri Lou's extensive experience as a rider/competitor translates into a trainer, coach and mentor who knows exactly what her students are thinking, feeling and going through as they progress because she's been there too. Whether it's plotting the best track over a highly technical jump course; giving an equitation rider final instructions on how to successfully ride a test; or helping hunter riders show off their mounts to best advantage, Jeri Lou's knowledge and real-world experience pay off both at home and in the show ring.
